Eggs, Friends, Indigo Girls, and 1 Small Step

SO, we went to the allergist yesterday and the doctor tested for the major allergens - dairy, eggs, nuts, and shellfish. I didnt catch what exactly the test was called, but it involved putting tiny amounts of liquid on Lily's skin and seeing where it reacted. It was amazing to see the two dots where eggs touched her turn into hives. Fortunately, none of the other dots reacted, so that is good to know!

Jeremy and I are relieved to know what exactly caused that reaction a few weeks ago, and how to prevent it - NO EGGS!! I have a lot to read and learn still, but my understanding that an egg allergy is one that children often grow out of around age 5 or 6. We'll see I guess.

Thanks for thinking of us!

This week is a busy one! We have LOTS of friends coming into town for a music festival in Bristol. It will be interesting having 5 extra people staying here, but FUN! I think the boys are going to camp out in the backyard, so the girls can sleep in beds. What gentlemen.

In other news, I spent my first night away from Lily last Sat. night! My friend Jen and I went down to Atlanta for the best Indigo Girls concert I have ever been to!! It was amazing, and good for me to get a break from life in Apt. 4. Jeremy took care of Lily, with some help from Sarah, and he really enjoyed 24+ hours with her alone! Lily did great with this time apart, and her mother did not :)

One last news item: Lily took her first step on Monday!! Just one and thats been it for now!

well obviously i'm not happy that she has an allergy but i am happy that you know what it is and how to deal with it. i'm sure it's not going to be easy since eggs are in alot of things but at least you know. we'll pray she grows out of it.

So glad that Lily is not allergic to other foods along with egg. I will pray that that ends with time.

Way to go on that first step, Lily!
