Old Friends, New Friends

My friend Beth (from high school) and her family came to visit us for the morning a couple weeks ago. We had a great time catching up and letting our kids play together! Above, Keaton (8 months) - the smiliest, most laid-back baby I have ever seen!

....and Miller

It's so nice (always) to reconnect with old friends and watch our kids become friends too!

Adventures on the Inside

Like most of our dear blog readers (even those in Florida!), we have been experiencing a HUGE cold blast here in East TN, including snow and ice. We haven't been getting out much so we have been trying to find ways to entertain ourselves at home. For example: putting on as many winter accessories as possible (see above).....
...reading LOTS of books...

...hammering things (and learning which things should NOT be hammered randomly: walls, floors, and staircases)...

...eating snow by the bowlfull...also, using socks for mittens (Lily's new favorite habit)....

...putting on other people's shoes...

...eating good food (including, but not limited to, grilled cheese)...
...cooking good food...
...learning to lip-sync... ...memorizing 30 types of pasta...

....and singing...a lot...("Have Patience" from the Music Machine)

...to name a few.

More catching up...

Lily, jumping in her crib...

East TN girl.

Lily's favorite - Ga-Ga! (aka Gina)

"Play toys" as Lily says.

Becky reading to Lily.

Lily and her favorite hat.

Walking with Becky.

She loved Abby, Aaron and Becky's dog! We made a lot of progress with Lily's animal-human relations while they were visiting!

Very serious about reading.

New favorite game: taking out all the spices and putting them back. HOURS of fun!

Playing with her best bud, Elijah, in her crib!

Lily, in front of "Lorna's house." Lorna is our realtor and as Lily says, "that be Lily's house"!

Shucking corn with Mimi.

Playing with Leah.

The Most Fun Age

These are a bunch of random pictures and videos that I am so behind in posting! There's no structure except for the consistent cuteness of Lily! Enoy.

We've been doing a lot more fun things with Lily. It's sad that she'll be TWO in a month, but we are able to do a lot more stuff with her now! These pictures are from a day I took to Lily to one of my favorite spots: "Magness" River. Its a really beautiful place with neat rock formations and lovely greenish water. She wasn't quite coordinated enough to play on the rocks, but

Pinano

Lily is currently obsessed with this Sufjan Steven's song....She calls it the "Pinano" (translation: piano) song and MUST wear that red hat while dancing to it. There are no variations in the routine. It's really, REALLY cute.

Last Week, in Apt. 4

We've been really busy around here! I have been finding it increasingly harder to sit down and blog as opposed to being outside, so here is an onslaught of pictures and videos...Lily loves playing on our back deck! It's a gorgeous view, and apparently is fun to run around on too (all 8 x 14 ft of it). She really likes her closet...its weird. This day she wanted to read in it. Have I mentioned already how much she loves Dr. Suess?

Elijah came over to play one day. They both wanted to ride the tractor at the same time...

She has been getting into our laundry basket and trying on everything...articles of clothing find new roles in her world.
Three things Lily loves: hats, being naked, and images of herself.

We went down to Greenville for the 4th of July so Jeremy and I could have a night away to celebrate our 7th anniversary! Love the hat mom!I take a ridiculous amount of pictures of Lily, most of which you never see...here she is singing "The Wheels on the Bus"

and here she is twirling.

She still thinks drinking from a glass is the MOST fun ever. I know this is a boring video, but I think its cute!

Recently, we have been really into bubbles. I think Jeremy and I enjoy playing with them as much as she does!
Here she is hugging Jeremy while he is blowing bubbles...

chasing them.
