first fish

Today Lily got her first fishing pole and caught her FIRST FISH!!!  It was such a fun day to see her enjoy something that Jeremy and I both LOVE.  We got her a princess pole with a fake fish that she spent a lot of time learning to cast.  AND SHE CAN!!!  She can actually cast.

Here is Lily reeling in her first fish ever out of the lagoon, the same place where her mama caught her first fish 29 years ago!

Lily's fishing outfit.

She ended up with a count of 3 for the evening!

Here is Lily practicing casting and reeling!  SOOO cute.

Lily's First Carnival.

A Carnival (or fair? what's the difference?) came to Elizabethton and Lily was DYING to check it out all week! She talked about it non-stop - no wonder, we could hear the music from our house and see it from our Ingles...so finally on Father's Day, we took her down and she loved it! She had her first cotton candy (above) after riding a few rides (below).

She loved the Carousel and kept asking when the horses were going to get off (watch Mary Poppins if you don't understand).

This roller coaster was not so much a success. Jeremy and I discouraged her from trying it, but she insisted...and they ended up having to stop the ride for her. I think more than anything, it was too loud. As you can see, she managed to follow directions by holding on to the bar in front of her AND cover her ears at the same time....

Now this ride was more like it! Slow and age-appropriate. :)
It was so fun to see her be so excited and enjoy this new experience!
