snow days

 Well, we've been having some fun with this weather.

 I forgot.  Kids like to eat snow.  Lily is no exception.

 Meet Caleb the Snowman.  He is named after Caleb the Student in Lily's class.  I don't want to talk about it.

These girls make my life a brighter place - you can see why!

Summer....

This a perfect picture of what summer is like:  exhausting, and SO hot upstairs that little girl has to take naps downstairs on the couch. 

It's ok though - we're having a good time, anyways.  Happy summer y'all!

"New" (White) Bed

I love so many things about this bed. I love that (according to the tag engraved on the back) it was made in Louisville, KY out of Sugar Maple by ______ & Sons Furniture (forgot the name). I love that it was mine as a child and my sister and my brother's too ...and my mom's before that. I love thinking that my Meemaw and Peepaw selected it carefully, thinking of their daughter sleeping in it. I love that Jeremy spent countless hours putting 5 + coats of white paint on it to cover up the (original?) dark stain. I love that it's so sturdy that one day it will probably be fit for my future grandchild to sleep in. And most of all, I love how much that little girl loves sleeping in her bed.

Don't Drink the Water (Highlights from last week)

This little girl is TIRED, a lot of the time. Gone are the days of reading quietly for 20-30 minutes at a time and playing peacefully. She is ON THE GO, BUSY, and HIGH SPEED. Since her morning nap has been phasing out, its been a struggle to make it to her afternoon nap... She's been going and getting her "bankie" and "paci" out of her crib and pretending to go to sleep all over the house...
