Tagged

Libba tagged me a few months ago, and I never got around to doing this, but now Beth has tagged me again, so I am going to play along and tell you 7 habits/quirks about myself.

1. Nails: I save them. When I moved into my dormroom my freshman year of college, my parents bought me an assorted pack of nails. At the end of every school year, I took them out of the wall and put them back in the package...and I am still hanging my pictures on them. They have paint flecks on them from four years of college, 2 apartments in Tampa, a trailer and an apartment in NC, a cabin in GA, and 2 apartments in TN. We are hoping they are going to stay put in these walls for awhile.
2. Name: I love noticing the moment when a new friend feels comfortable enough to address me as "Case"
3. Nick Nacks: Clutter annoys the living snot out of me, but I dont throw anything away...soooo I am frequently annoyed. Plus, I have a nick nack obsession which does not aid in the appearance of simplicity. I have rocks and shells from various special places gathered in clusters on shelves, in glass containers, and little dishes -not to mention all the cool wooden and stone beads I have collected over time. (One of these days I WILL make that perfect necklace). AND, we dont have a recycling service here, so we keep all our recyclables in two banana boxes in our kitchen (ahhhhhh!), and they inevitably overflow several times a month. (PS - Our waste has been reduced by at least half since we started taking our own recycling. Try it!)
4. Noses: I think probably just my immediate family is aware of my obsession with noses. Thats all I have to say about that.

5. Plants: I literally cannot resist picking wildflowers, and buying outdoor flowers and potted plants. Our small apartment is obnoxiously full of houseplants and possibly slightly resembles a rainforest. In the summer our porches are loaded with flowers. This is my favorite hobby.

6. Meat: (and I mean this term to include poultry and fish) I usually enjoy eating it, but really, really dislike cooking it. This is part of my problem in the kitchen. I am trying to work more with veggies and legumes these days, and I am actually enjoying it a little. Dont tell anyone.

7. Backstock: After working as a retail buyer for a year and a half, I am obsessively keeping "backstock" of the following critical items: baby wipes, eggs, milk, OJ, TP, brown rice, ground flaxseed, and cereal.
Beth Plyler, Courtney, Abby, Yendra, Fred (or Jen!), Ashley "O", and Ginny - you are officially "tagged".

I just have to tell you that when I read the first line about nails and how you save them, I thought you meant fingernails. I was a little bit concerned. I am glad that I read on. Also, like Beth, I share in the meat thing. If Matt didn't love it so much, we might become vegetarians at home, and enjoy meat only when eating out. This was a most entertaining post. I am loving the "tagged" thing....not sure what it means, but I like it.

wups about the nails, although I do keep my fingernails too - I just thought that was too personal.
