Stubborn Windows Friends Face

We are still getting back in the swing of things. Lily Mae is having a bit of a hard time going to bed since we have returned from IL - she naps GREAT, but will NOT go to sleep at night, though it is obvious she is exhausted. Jeremy and I feel like we have tried everything: from reading books, to rubbing her head, to singing, to rocking, dancing, bouncing, chanting, ...Any other suggestions?

Here's a random factoid. They installed new windows in our apartment, and they are AMAZING. Our old windows were single-pane, uninsulated, screenless, dirty, and just plain old. Jeremy and I both feel like we have a new view of the world. It's like getting those new glasses, finally. We can see mountains from our windows!! Today we had them all open all day, and our apartment smells gloriously fresh this evening...random, I know. (Thanks for being excited for us :)

We got to see some friends from work Sat. night. Lily got to meet Hannah (below) for the first time. April (Hannah's mom and our former coworker) and I were pregnant at the same time.
This is our friend Megan...

and this is the new funny face Lily is making frequently. I think sucking on her lower lip feels good on her gums...she is teething, by the way.

For those of you who enjoy blog browsing (blogsing? blowsing? brogging?), check out my friend Yendra's new blog. I really really identify with her first post, on motherhood ("a year in review: 2007")

One last thing. Does anyone out there know of any good websites that offer (free) healthy, simple, and cheap recipes? If so, leave a comment below...

Get some cousin Johnny recordings and let her giggle herself to sleep.

honored that you mentioned me. :)
i would honestly let her cry for 10 minutes, go in calm her down and then lay her back down and let her cry for 10 more minutes and then comfort her. I'll bet it won't take more than one try before she'll calm a lot easier.

As I was fixing Addy breakfast I notices on the cheerios box a website called eatbetteramerica.com
I checked it out and it might have some things to cook that would fit what you are looking for.
Also I agree with Yendra... as hard as it is to let the little ones cry they can sometimes be overstimulated by our attempts to settle them down making it even harder for them to get to sleep. We have done what she suggested with both the kids and it really worked for us. By the way Lily just keeps getting more and more adorable.
